Celebrity-Infinity...which cabin to pick: forward or aft?

This is our first cruise to Alaska and for 7 days late Aug 07. We wanted to book a cabin with a balcony or concierge cabin. Can someone please advice which is the best location for us, toward the front of the ship or in the back of the aft? Also, what is the weather like at this time of the year? Any tips for first time cruising and to Alaska?

Thank you so much!!!

I much prefer the aft cabins personally.

Weather in Alaska is almost less predictable than anywhere else. August bodes well for average temps, but you could still encounter a few days of less desirable conditions. Bring some clothing you can layer, if necessary, and a rain proof outer shell and you'll be fine.

The cabin sizes are all the same so it really makes little difference. The ship is large so it is helpful to book a room near an elevator.

As to weather, it very much depends. As you've heard - layers, layers, layers. And do expect to be rained on and promise yourself ahead of time if it rains you will venture outside anyway. You may get lucky, but rain is very prominent, especially in Ketchikan.

Overall, Alaska is WONDERFUL and the Infinity is a beauty. We are sailing on her for our second time in two weeks and can't wait.
