Default Prices do go down, keep checking back !!

We booked on Celeb Mille/Panama Canal, lvg FT Laud, 4/20/08 rtn SF..early last month. Have checked back about twice a week and price had gone up until yesterday 8/23 when price dropped $250 per person from original booking rate. We were in a CC cabin and our friends in Balcony 2A. The CC rate is now less $$ than their cabin which increased, so I bumped them up to a CC, larger cabin for less money. Can't quite see why this would happen and neither did booking agent but it does pay to check back, we saved $500.00. Still have 5 months to go before final payment so I will keep checking back.

How great for you! Many agents do check this for you, and let you know, but as with anything, we are our own best advocate...

Yup.. it does happen, and Celebrity is one of the best about rebating the discount back to the passengers.

The different pricing on categories can be odd. They're run by computerized yield management programs, so can get out of whack until a warm body notices

I remember one group cruise we did, at one point inside cabins were selling for more than the balcony cabins. Go figure!

Default dropping prices

Within 3 days prices were back in sync, CC cabins more expensive than 2A, so I was really tickled about savings especially for my friends. What about after final payment is made, will Celebrity still reduce rate if price drops??
