Default Can I squeeze in extra days pre- and post-cruise?

We cruise Miami (May 03 2008) to Rome (May 19) on Clebrity's Galaxy.
We are booked air plus cruise and have paid the deposit.

We would like to take some time in Florida and/or Italy before/after we cruise. We would like to book our own accommodation rather than accept what the cruise line has to offer (geography and price being the main reasons).
If I approach Celebrity about this, what should I say and what will they likely say?
Is it doable without recontracting the whole cruise deal (the price has doubled since we booked a month ago!).

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Yes it is possible. You just have your travel agent tell Celebrity that you would like "air deviation"; tell them the dates you want to fly.

They could alter the air price is it happens to be different than the days they have you scheduled to fly.
