Does anyone have a suggestion for hotels in San Juan.
We only need a hotel for one night and want to be
near the port.
Celebrity seems to use a terminal that's on the waterfront behind the old airport rather than in Old San Juan. I'm not aware of any hotels that are within walking distance of that terminal.
There are some hotels in Old San Juan, but you probably will do better staying in the Carolina/Isla Verde area, which is a resort area en route from the airport to the pier. I stayed at a Radisson property there a few years ago, and it worked out very well. On embarkation day, we had brunch at the hotel, then checked out and went to the pier, checked in for the cruise, dropped our luggage, and went into Old San Juan for the afternoon. Unfortunately, Radisson's web site is not turning up anything in San Juan so it probably has been reflagged.
Try Price Line for info-they have maps of where the different hotels are. I only spent one night and it is tough to fit in a good look at San Juan. If I had to do it again I'd spend two nights or just fly in and go straight to the pier. It is such a hassle in and out of airports and hotels-such a pleasure to just go to the ship and start relaxing.
Have a great cruise !

We stayed in Old San Juan last fall at Da House. Its a little boutique hotel about 3 blocks from the pier in Old San Juan. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
