Default TROPICAL STORM FAY!

We're planning on leaving Miami on Wednesday August 20th to Rome and sail out from Civitavecchia Port on Friday August 22nd. We're very concerned about the tropical storm that is currently in the Atlantic. We South Floridians are within that cone and will know a lot more on Sunday evening about its path. What is your experience with bad weather and delays? Our travel arrangements were made through the cruiseline and we do have travel insurance. Have you had any experience with bad weather? Were you able to catch your cruise on time?

"The storm's forecast track would take it over central Cuba, past Key West and then into Florida's Gulf Coast as a hurricane, the center said. A tropical storm becomes a hurricane when its top sustained winds reach 74 mph."

By the time you leave Rome and head to Miami (?), that storm will be past history. Your flight is on Wednesday, same thing here. The storm will be hsitory.

I have sailed in and around hurricanes out of Miami over the years. Never missed a ship and none were delayed.

Thank you Irish Shark for your words of encouragement. These storms are known to make unpredictable last minute turns, but I decided not to worry unless I have something to worry about. I will think positive and positive things will happen. Thanks again for your reply. I feel better already.

"Residents and tourists in the Florida Keys prepared Saturday for Tropical Storm Fay, which forecasters said could strengthen to a hurricane and begin battering the island chain as soon as Monday."

At the current track, it looks good for you flight.
