Fly to MIA tomorrow morning (8/17) to spend a night prior to my 4 night RCI cruise which departs Monday. What do you seasoned Floridians/cruisers think?? I'm a flight attendant so I know how storms screw up flights but I wondered what you all thought about cruise and ports. Ports are Nassau, CocoCay and Key West. Arrive back in MIA on Fri 8/22.
" A light stream of traffic headed out of Key West Sunday morning as officials urged visitors to leave the string of low-lying islands ahead of Tropical Storm Fay, which forecasters said could strengthen to a hurricane. "
"The sixth storm of the 2008 Atlantic season picked up some momentum early Sunday morning as it headed toward Cuba, and could be a hurricane by the time it reaches the island's center, forecasters said. At 8 a.m. EDT Sunday, Fay's center was located about 395 miles southeast of Key West and moving west-northwest at 13 miles per hour. The storm had maximum sustained winds near 50 mph with some gusting. "
You should not have an issue except for Key West. The other ports are/were not in the storm's track.
