Default Condition of Mercury - Let's Hear It!

We are scheduled for our 3rd sailing on the Mercury in October. We sailed her in 1998 and again in 2004. By today's standards I know this is considered to be an 'older' ship but was curious to know how it's holding up? Recent refurbishments gave some attention to bedding, public area carpeting, etc. but how is Mercury holding up overall? Some reviews I read say Mercury is great while others say she's deteriorating. Just not sure what to believe.

We were on the Mercury on a 12-night Mexican Riviera cruise. After sailing on the newer Constellation (without refurbishments) I was not displeased at all. Our Mercury cruise was two years ago, in 2006 (October) and I could tell there was some wear on the seats in the lounge area, and some in our Sky Suite, but it was not hideous at all-I was pleased.

I can only imagine that with the refurbishing, it's going to look great. Please be sure to post your comments, after you sail. Would love to know what you think.

Hi Sasco

Are you two going to Hawaii or up to Canada? You can see where I'm going if you look at the bottom of this message ... and as of this February and June, I have titanium hips!!!

Our other trip this fall....we're headed up to NY to see the last game at Yankee Stadium before they move across the street.

Titanium hips? You'll probably be in better shape than us w/ those!
