Can anyone provide their experiences with latin/ballroom dancing (rumba, swing. cha cha, foxtrot, waltz etc...) on Celebrity?
We've cruised with Princess 3 times and they consistently have latin/ballroom dancing every night.
On all of Celebrity's ships, the Rendevous Lounge (or "Rendezvous Square") has live music for ballroom dancing and a reasonable dance floor, and some ships also have a second lounge with a dance floor that has live music suitable for ballroom dancing if it's not in use for another activity. The group in the Rendezvous Lounge typically plays from 5:15 to 6:15, from 7:45 until 8:45, and from 10:00 until midnight or so (with a break of ten minutes in the middle). If there's another lounge, it may go until 12:30.
The "second lounge" is the "nightclub" located directly above the main dining room aboard MV Celebrity Galaxy and MV Celebrity Mercury and the Champagne/Martini Bar aboard GTS Celebrity Infinity. I have not been aboard GTS Celebrity Millennium, GTS Celebrity Constellation, or GTS Celebrity Summit since the line plugged the opening down to the Rendezvous Lounge that originally separated the Champagne Bar from the Martini Bar aboard these vessels on GTS Celebrity Infinity so I don't know whether the three sisters have received the same ship alteration or not.
I also don't know the specific arrangements aboard MV Celebrity Solstice, as I have not cruised on her yet.
Dancing on Celebrity - Connie has the Rendevouz lounge outside the main dining room. Decent - not large - dance floor. Not much ballroom dancing when we were on her (2005 & 2007). The larger dance floor is at the Bar at the Edge. That was where they had ballroom dance lessons. (Not a frequent activity). The Infinity (2008) has the same layout.
The Ensemble Lounge on Solstice ( 2008) is not really a lounge for dancing, it is directly outside the specialty restr. There is the disco type lounge (we did not spend time in there); the Sky lounge on top deck has a nice dance floor and they had a couple of dance lesson in that lounge.
