Celebrity's (upcoming) All-Inclusive Drink Packages

Does anyone remember in their Captain's Club newsletter a few months back, X mentioning the new drink packages to come out later in 2009? Just curious if any recent cruisers have seen this?

From what I recall, there will be a wine, beer, soft drink, bottled water, mixed drink or frozen drink pre-paid package soon coming, if not already here (but am sure we would have seen the announcement).

Hope you are correct and can only guess how many drinks they will sell.If this is successful all others will follow suit in a hurry.

Hi Triton,

No Celebrity has still not rolled this out yet. I remember it saying "late 2009". So that could mean December.

I have a cruise booked for 10/16 and there's no mention of purchasing these packages in any of my cruise documents.

Before I read your post I called my Captains Club rep and she said exactly what you did, "Late 2009". She confirmed that it has not been released yet.

Manuel, I'm not sure if it is "all you can drink". My best guess would be that the rate would include a particular number of drinks (or bottles of water / wine / beer).

Another cruiser private messenged me to say they had this on another line and the equivelent was about $42 a day, for so-many drinks.

That's about what we spend now, $42 a day per person for drinks.

So not sure we would get much out of it, especially now that Celebrity has those new perks for Elite Members and we get to enjoy Michael's club lounge from 4-6. Not that we would attend every day, but a few free drinks per cruise should cut down out total bar bill....or maybe not who knows. I love my martinis in the martini bar and find it hard to stay away.

IT'S NOT the drinks per se, but the water, the soft drinks, the wine, the drink at supper... but then again... i'm not a big drinker and would having one of these cards encourage heavier drinking on my part

Same here. Were Elite and will be looking forward to trying the new cocktail hour at Michaels...that's a nice perk.

Wine with dinner and bottled water though...we noticed on our last cruise if we buy a bottle of wine each (red for DP and white for me) the Somalier sure likes to keep pouring, lol! I have to tell her to "Sloooow Down!" Wine package would be nice.

I'm Elite also and am looking forward to book another Celebrity cruise soon. I will be looking to see what's coming down the pike.
As I have said before We love Celebrity and it is our favorite line, but we have also enjoyed the Royal megaships.

Too many ships and not enough time.

Cruising Chick-

So you'll be just fine in Michael's Club with ordering martinis. We went several times, and it is a full bar.

Celebrity will give Elite Members a white card along with your Sea Pass card. The white plastic card has your name, room number and Captain's Club number, along with your status. You can use this card for entry into the private Elite functions. I was never asked for mine though.

Cocktails are from 4-6 PM and you are of course permitted to step outside of Michaels to meander. We (along with other couples) would take our pre-dinner cocktails along to the dining room and it was just fine.

The continental breakfast with brew coffee was great as well.
