Default Balcony cabin TBD

I am thinking about booking a TBD balcony room on Sostice. I know the pros are lower fare, the cons are you dont know what room you will get and it will probably be a crappy room. I am an elite member, will that make any difference on the room i get and are their any other pros and cons? Thanks, Woody!

You don't say what dates you are considering but the rates for 2010 are quite good right now -- why not pick an actual catagory and the specific cabin you want --- there can't be that much cost difference between that
and the guarentee - You should ask about your Elite status -- I have no
experience with whether that would get you a better cabin location (but
I certainly would hope so ).

Hi Woody:

Unfortunately this would not be a benefit of being an Elite Captains Club member. You'll get some other very nice perks and ammenities, though with your status. We just returned, and the perks were the nicest we've ever experienced!

Thanks for the info Triton. I do have one other question, the evening social hour at Michaels; I read somewhere that it is from 4p-6p which seems kinda early to me, is that time correct?

Hi Woody:

Yes, the time is correct...at least on our cruise it was. We had earling dining (6:15 PM) so it worked out great for us; however, if you have late seating, I can see where that would be too early.

Hopefully Celebrity will have a similar cocktail hour for the late-dining guests. On our ship, I think the problem was hosting it in Michaels Club. The club needs to prepare for the lounge entertainment, as it's typically a piano / vocalist club. The early diners drop in after dinner and the late diners drop in before. Hopefully on the Solstice class ships there would be more venues to choose from.

The cocktail hour is great though...full bar and wonderful service.
