I love the Solstice class of ships. I have been on Solstice twice already.
But I am just wondering if you Celebrity fans care that the ships are all nearly identical. Do you think you would cruise on Celebrity more if they changed up the decor on these ships? or do you like the fact that they are all the same inside. They are absolutely beautiful - I certainly would not tell anyone not to cruise on Celebrity because of this.
I just wonder how many of you may have taken a second cruise on a different ship of the same class and said "hey, i didnt realize it was going to be identical to the other ship?"
I remember I did this at Disney World's Magic Kingdom. It is exactly like Disneyland in Anaheim. I felt somewhat ripped off - "I just travelled 2000 miles to see something I have already seen!"
In my mind it just seems logical that a ship lover would prefer to see some variation between ships of the same class. Otherwise you are pretty much traveling for the destinations if you have already seen one of the Solstice ships and choose to go on Eclipse.
All the other cruise lines (except Royal Caribbean and some of the lux lines) make all of their ships different.
It is my understanding that they are making some changes to reflect the fact that for part of the year it will be homeported in England. If you look at the current plans for Eclipse, the area where Silk Harvest is now is only indicated as Restaurant. Also, I hear they are putting tea pots in the cabins...
Ahhh, a tea pot in the cabin would make me smile....I do think they should make changes, manybe not huge changes, between ships of the same class. People I think, sometimes like the familiarity, but I would opt for something new.
Trip, with her book & tea!

As they say in the real estate industry.. location, location... and I say I don't care about the sameness of the ship...it's where it's heading..it's the ports to me.I do love the idea of tea pots in the room.
I don't mind sameness, as long as the product is good to begin with.
There is allways a different feel to each cruise.
The Solstice is a great ship, so her sister ships will be wonderfull ships as well.
