Transportation from MIA to Ft. Lauderdale

HELP!
Can anyone advise me of a way to get from the above subject matter without taking out a loan to get to our destination?

My hotel does not do a shuttle service from MIA to Ft. Lauderdale but they did say they would send a car to us costing $135.00 not including tips. I find that very expensive. They mentioned that getting a taxi with the meter constantly runnnig is not the best choice....

Due to Licensing Restrictions all trips must originate from Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Florida. (return trips excluded ) This does not sound like we would be able to take this transport to our hotel from MIA to Ft. Lauderdale

Would you or anyone else on Cruisemates know about how much a taxi would cost from Miami Intl airport to Ft. lauderdale's Bahia Mar Hotel Resort?

Drat.... A cab between the 2 cities is around $75.00 & takes about an hr, give or take, considering traffic.

Don't waste money on a cab or shuttle bus. Take the commuter train (called Tri-Rail). It runs frequently between Miami Airport and Ft Lauderdale Airport, and many other stops in southern Florida. Cost is less than $5 per person and there is a shuttle bus from the airport to the station. Plenty of room on board for luggage.

thanks for you post, I am looking for same thing as threadopener. I checked that website and clicked on destinations and schedule. Which of these 5 destinations is Fort Lauderdale?
