Smile Towel Animals

Has anyone cruised the Equinox yet? ....If so, are u surprised each night with a towel animal?.... I love it when u walk into ur stateroom and find one of those adorable animals on ur bed at the end of the day.
If you've cruised on this beautiful ship, what are your likes or dislikes about it?

Celebrity does not and never has done towel animals on a regular basis, you may get the occasional steward make them but it is rare.

I have cruised Equinox and I enjoyed and Aqua Class cabin. My favorite thing was eating in Blu for both breakfast and dinner. Murano was fantastic. The entire ship was absolutely beautiful. Martini bar at night was fun especially with a good crowd.

Dislikes were the casino which is a black hole. I realize that most people complain about the payouts but I have been in many casinos around the world and never saw such poor payouts. I am on Solstice in three weeks and will not even go into the casino.
.
Also, although I generally enjoyed the entertainment, I thought the Cirque type show was absolutely boring. I fell asleep during the performance. It is one of those shows you either like or dont.

Huh? I'm curious what your expertise is on the towel animals dkjretired?

We have sailed on every =X= ship thus far, and have had towel animals on all but one cruise.

Please be careful of the blanket statement. Perhaps this is your experience?

We have the funniest video of our last cruise to the Panama on the Infinity. Our cabin attendant made an: elephant, dog, bird and monkey on this cruise. On a couple of the days, he put some reading glasses on the character. ! These towel animals can be your children even! All depends on the attendant you get.

We are quite pleased with the Solstice class and have no dislikes. Avid Celebrity fans here.

I am sure you are right that it varies but,we were on a 14 day cruise and never saw a towel anything --or heard anyone else mention them; so I would not count on it.We were also on the Infinity.

We have been on 18 Celebrity cruises & never had a towel animal in our room. I would imagine that if you asked, they might do one for you.

My expertise is being on various boards for over 15 years and seeing this question asked many, many times. Also, having been on numerous Celebrity cruises, I have never seen a towel animal and for many of those cruises, I traveled with my young children.. Invariable the answer is the one I gave and yours would be an exception. As you can also see the other posters have never had towel animals on Celebrity cruises...

Out of 22 cruises on Celebrity, we had towel animals on 2 cruises. It really just depends on your cabin steward; don't think it's a Celebrity thing.

We have never had a towel animal on any cruise, not bothered.
Another thing is where people complain about those who make a statement concerning something & say "well that's YOUR opinion!", well I say of course it's that persons opinion, that is all we can ever give ....our opinion based on our experience, as far as we can tell to all intents & purposes that is a fact. It's not arrogance or being a know-all, just trying to pass on information.

Thank u all for ur responses....My understanding is Celebrity doesn't make it their business to make those cute little towel animals....
But a few cruisers have had them....I might be one of those lucky ones and find one sitting on my bed at night... when I get on the Equinox...I'm sure going to ask about them....and who knows...I might just find one waiting for me......or better yet...I might surprise my cabin steward ... make one and have it waiting for him/her....

I think making one for your steward would be a hoot.

I'm going to do it just for the fun of it....I learned how to make an elephant on Carnival some years back....now I'm going to practice like the dickens and hope my steward gets a laugh....

Default summit towel animals

We were on Summit 14 nite cruise to Alaska and down to LA several years ago. We were greeted each night with a towel animal!

Thumbs up Towel Animals

OMG! Towel animals on X??? What's the world coming to??
There was a thread some years ago with diehard X cruisers absolutely raking over the coals a cruiser who had experienced them from another line and said he/she missed the towel animals. Evidently they were considered beneath the dignity of Celebrity cruiseline.
I have been on 6 X cruises and have never seen a towel animal. However, I will get brave and state that I loved the critters on my 4 RCCL cruises. Hmmmm, maybe this Jan. on Summit I will get lucky with a towel-forming steward.

I have not sailed on the Equinox (yet), but on one of my last cruises, the creative stateroom attendant was aware that I was awaiting some "party animals" to visit me. I was somewhat sad the first night when we made our way back to the cabin because I did not see any. Then, I turned my head and attached to the picture frame was a red eyed bat! He also made a green eyed turtle wearing a hat and sunglasses, a chimpanzee (face different than the regular monkey), two kissing swans, and on the last night, made a rhino!
We took a cruise on the Zandam over New Years a while back and on that night, all of the animals were wearing Happy New Year hats, had gold HNY necklaces around their necks, had those party favors that you blow and make noise, and their hands were the plastic hand clappers they were giving out earlier. Needless to say, I took alot of photos with all of them!
I understand they have books you can buy to make the animals and on some of the cruises, one of the daily events was to teach those interested how to make some of them.
I think they are replacing the chocolate on the pillow because I have not gotten any in a long time, but I do get animals in my room. Luckily, they leave no calling cards but are gone the next day!

Hi Watchurdiet , I have had the pleasure of finding a cute towel animal ( with a chocolate) on my bed every night on all the cruises I took with HAL . I am always pleasantly surprised to find a new one every evening upon returning to my stateroom ! I hope this nightly tradition will continue for many years to come with HAL's cruises . Lane

When a cruise line decides to make towel animals a "policy", several considerations come into play.

Each ship must first purchase about $70,000 worth of additional towels to make this possible. Guess who ultimately pays for them?

Many cabin stewards do not have ample time to make new towel animals for every cabin in his station. How do they get around this? They re-cycle the towel animals by moving them from cabin to cabin. What was your neighbor doing yesterday with the towel animal you are now handling?
Use your imagination.

Was your neighbor suffering from any viruses (like Norwalk) while he was playing with the towel animal you are now hugging?
You will know the answer to that question in about 48 hours.

Are you a "green" cruiser? Do you want your cruise line to care for our environment too?
Putting towel animals into all cabins results in many additional TONS of soapy water dumped into the sea every week by your ship's laundry.
