Cool Atmosphere

The Equinox and Soltice are not exactly known as party ships.perhaps you should look into Royal Caribbean..

I agree with Parrot Mom that Celebrity ships would not be my first recommendation for a young couple looking for a fun atmosphere. If you are expecting near 24 hours per day entertainment you will be disappointed. You said that you are planning a cruise on the Equinox; have you already booked it?

You may want to consider some of the new (and very big) RCCL ships. No lack of things to do on those giants of the sea! Plus if you get hooked on cruising like most of us are on this board , the travel points that you get for an RCCL cruise will port-over to Celebrity's frequent guess program when you may be ready for a more relaxing vacation (both lines owned by RCCL).

Although I would tend to agree with the previous comments, a lot depends on what you like to do. You can have a great deal of fun and activity on the S class ships, just depends on your likes, dislikes..

Yes...but when people say ''FUN'' I tend to think they mean active boisterous "chuck 'em in the pool" sort of fun. I have never found much on a ship to hold my interest for long, but then I am happy just watching the sea or reading, not FUN in the sense I think the OP meant.

Celebrity's ships definitely offer a lot to do. On days at sea, there are usually guest lectures, personal enrichment programs, fitness programs, culinary demonstrations, arts and crafts, and activities such as wine tastings, in addition to the usual bingo, trivia contests, and whatnot. In the evening, there's a full array of entertainment options including shows, live music for dancing, a piano lounge, other lounges with a capella quartets or string combos, and/or a singer with a guitar. There's also the inevitable karioke and the "Newlywed and Not-So-Newlywed" games. Crusies to the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera, and the Panama Canal also feature tropical deck parties on one or two nights of the cruise, depending upon their duration. The casino is open from midafternoon until the wee hours, and the disco cranks up at 11:00 and goes until the wee hours.

That said, Celebrity's activities are geared toward an upper middle class clientelle that's generally well educated, intellectually curious, and socially sophisticated. Thus, they tend toward classy and sophisticated rather than raucous and boisterous. Thus, those who like things classy and sophisticated typically find that Celebrity is probably a good choice. Those who prefer "pretzels and beer" over "wine and cheese," OTOH, probably would be happier on a different line.

Norm.

I think one of the new larger RCI ships, would be more to your liking. With so many options to participate in, or not, at least they are there for you. The Oasis or the Allure would be amazing for a honeymoon.

The level of activity is higher then what you will find on Celebrity ships. For this most important event in your lives, make sure you select the right line.

I do not know your ages; but to us the Equinox was both fun and relaxing. Sailing with nice couples makes your cruise fun and relaxing to us.

Happy Honeymoon

As others have said, RCL 2 new ships (Oasis & Allure) have everything and will have a younger average age than any Celebrity ship. Also since they do 7 day Caribbean cruises that also attracts a younger crowd. If you want longer than a 7 day cruise do a B2B on those ships, which would be E. Carib. one week & W. Carib. the next week. With >5000 pax there would be more honeymooners on the RCL ships.

Location, time of year & length of cruise are big factors that affect the age group as much as the cruiseline.
