Thumbs up A change of heart..er..booking.

Today,we changed our cruise plans We'd been booked on RCI's Explorer O.S. since last July. The port was convenient, we wanted to try a BIG ship and we got a good price on a corner aft balcony. Plus, our Elite status transferred to Diamond on RCI. Then over the past few months, the doubts starting creeping in. I try not to put too much value on ship reviews but there was so much negativity about the food. And I read that on a 9 day cruise, only 2 nights were designated as non-smoking in the casino. We don't live in the casino by any means but it made us think that maybe the non-smoking guidelines weren't enforced on the rest of the ship. So, after much hand wringing, we called our TA before the final payment was due and canceled. Instead, we've booked 14 nights on the Constellation for the end of Feb. It's cost a few more dineros, we gave up a balcony and we have to fly but we both feel so much more comfortable! This will be our 7th. "X" cruise and the second on the Connie. We may be missing a great experience on the Explorer (we'll never know) but it just seems the right thing to do for us. Can't wait to see the new "solsticized" Connie!

We can hardly wait! Already going through the closet-what to take is going to be an issue. We have always driven to the port so restrictions on luggage has never been an issue. 14 nights and I have to cut back-yikes! I hope someone from cruisemates does this cruise before us and writes a review-I did see a couple on the "other board" about the Med. itinerary and they were excellent. I think the Connie comes back to Florida at the end of Nov.
