I like Reflection, don't like Silhouette. It sounds like they named the ship after the restaurant on Equinox. Also, someone in the Celebrity PR should have realized that people would be using the nickname "Silly" for the ship.
I would not ever have thought to use that nickname for the Silouette.
I've never used it but it is all over various boards, I just think they should have sat back and realized Millienium is Millie, Constellation is Connie, etc...
I'm not sure. Let me take some time to reflect on it.
There are so many ships it's getting hard to come up with an original name. Even now there are too many "Legends", "Navigators", "Freedoms" etc. that it becomes confusing on what ship and cruise line you're talking about.
Take care,
Mike

I don't much care what the name of a ship is. I am more interested in the quality of the cruise that it provides.

FYI - I wrote a LONG post to thios earlier and lost it to a bad DSL connection -
I said that one must remember that these ships are built to last 20 years, and they won't always be able to command premium prices.
If you look at the new ships on order for Princess and NCL, the trend is towards more people per ship - smaller passenger space ratio.
That formula just makes for more profitable ships. And while hips like Solstice and Queen Mary 2 are beautiful ships - reality is that fuel is getting more expensive, especially if new international regulations ban bunker fuel, and it is getting so the opulence and luxury of open spaces on cruise ships may just be a luxury many cruise lines can't afford.

I don't mind the name, but I don't care for the extra deck of cabins! That many more people sharing not much more public space doesn't sound good to me at all.

The ship will actually be bigger also....I've been on the S class ships and you really don't notice the number of people on board...
Celebrity Nova
Carnival Vega
Edsel of the Seas
Azamara Corvair
Camaro Princess
And last but not least:
Holland America's Buickdam

I think the Ocean View Cafe, which will get even more seating on the Reflection, is the best of any cafe on any ship I have sailed! Would get my 100%, but it does not have trays..drat! Ok, 99%

I liked the name Reflection because we liked to reflect back on our outstanding cruises with Celebrity Cruise Lines.
I love your post. My cruises with Celebrity have been outstanding as well.
