I'm a little confused by your post. I don't understand why you would wear pants with a dress.
>> For "smart casual" evenings, you can wear a top with either slacks or a skirt or, if you prefer, a (casual) dress. On Celebrity, there seem to be some ladies wearing cocktail dresses even on the "smart casual" evenings.
Gents wear a shirt [/i]with collar and sleaves[/i] and slacks on the "smart casual" evenings.
>> For the "formal" evenings, either a formal dress, which can be either full length or cocktail length, or a formal pant suit is in order. Gents wear either "black tie" (tuxedo or dinner jacket outfit) or a suit and tie for the "formal" evenings.
If you wear a sleeveless top or dress, it would be good to have a shawl or a sweater, or a jacket on the "formal" evenings, in case you happen to draw a seat located right under an air conditioning vent in the dining room, the theater, or a lounge.
Have a great cruise!
