Ice cream?

I was told during our first cruise that the soft serve machines were what made the ship go. Always being the type to take my responsibilities seriously, I frequented the ice cream machines almost daily.

Does Celebrity offer free ice cream?

Ice Cream is free....

jacdenv24 August 29th, 2011 04:02 PM

Ice cream (both softserve and regular) was free on the Connie last Feb. I sure hope it's still free in Feb.2012 when we sail the Silhouette. I personally prefer it to gelato which was NOT free!

I could spend the rest of my life eating ice cream :)

Quite often I go to the local supermarket and buy 1/2 gallon of ice cream .I tend to finish it in one to two hours .

green_rd August 29th, 2011 09:50 PM

mmm - gelato - I'll probably have to pay for some of that too

Lakers Fan August 29th, 2011 09:54 PM

I haven't had gelato since 1996 .

Manuel August 29th, 2011 10:03 PM

The ice cream on Celebrity is quite good. On our last cruise we had some almost everyday. :)

Yes ,it will . We spent the last 2 days with people who cruise 2-3 x every year .

Yes they have it in the buffet and it is YUMMIOLA!! I especially live the red wine sorbet ...they will have it as an intermezzo at dinner on formal night, then it should show up in the buffet the next day..at least it did on Summit...

Delish!

On the S class ships, Gelato is not in the buffet, it has its own store for want of a better word...

Parrot Mom September 3rd, 2011 09:31 PM

IF I remember right.. there is at the ice cream buffet a sorbet or two..

green_rd November 1st, 2011 01:04 PM

It was delicious

I was on the Connie last month and had one bowl of ice cream - one was enough - not a patch on Mackies - JMHO :) - I was very disappointed.

Good for you Manuel but my single bowl contained chunks of ice - I shiver at the memory.

Guess I was unlucky and decided not to risk it.

No wonder my cruises always have great power, I am an Ice Cream addict and "live at the soft serve machine".

I leave on Sat on Eclipse and have viewed the Tuscan Grille menu. We have reservations there nightly and I am already planning the gelato one night, the sorbetto the next, the gelato following, the sorbetto following, and then some more...
Marie Antoinette, you were right: let them eat cake! (although I know she never said this)

Enjoy.

I've not had ice cream in a while and I am in withdrawal. :-?

green_rd November 16th, 2011 07:50 AM

Katz - that is a lot of planning.

Lakers Fan November 16th, 2011 08:20 PM

I discovered something nearly as good as ice cream:

Mango Sorbet

I try not to eat that much of anything at home but during the cruise I tend to eat non-stop .
