Question Elite Status Perks on Celebrity

I am reading, as part of the Elite Status Perks you are able to go to the Concierge Lounge for social hour daily. Does anyone have any details, such as, the hours of the lounge, how many drinks are you allowed free and what types of drinks do they offer.

On RCCL it is from 5-830 pm with free beer, wine, sparkling wine and 25% off mixed drinks.

Celebrity does not have a Concierge Lounge like Royal Caribbean. They have an Elite social hour daily for breakfast and in the evening. It is usually held in Michaels in the morning and sometimes at Michael in the evening. If there are large numbers of Elite on the ship, they will usually hold it in the Sky Lounges. The morning event has coffees, continental breakfast and some drinks like bloody mary's etc.

The evening event has just had their hours changed to 5:30 to 7:30. You can get an unlimited amount of drinks however you are not permitted to leave the lounge with them They have a menu of drinks and it is pretty expansive. All the drinks are free during this period. I usually however do tip the waiters. They also serve hors d'oerves during the event. It is not held on embarkation day and the date of the Captains club event. You will receive info in your room as an Elite member.

Finally if you have not done so and have a Celebrity cruise booked, you must call Celebrity's Captains Club and get a Captains Club number. Also, have them associate your new number to your booking. You can't just board the ship and say I'm a C@A member, give me my perks.

Finally, you may enter the elite event with whoever is sharing the room with you, if you are traveling with friends or relatives who are not elite, they may not enter. The Elite event dress code is smart casual and they do enforce it, no shorts allowed.

Good to know they have changed the hours. It used to be 4-6, which was a bit early.

You're right about the dress code. We've seen the Captain's Club Host politely ask guests to return to their cabin and put on long pants. We see enough of the "swimming pool" casual dress in the public areas.

Thank you so much for your response. We are Diamond on RCCL and Elite on Celebrity due to the number of points on each line. Nice to know how well they both take care of their loyal customers. Headed to Alaska this summer. We found a deal of a lifetime through COSTCO, 7 day cruise 6 days land, with tons of added perks.

"The evening event has just had their hours changed to 5:30 to 7:30"

Cruisers doing traditional dining at 6pm benefit very little from the new times. Celebrity probably changed it from 4 to 6 to 530 to 730 to save money.

The times are 5 to 7, I don't know what I was thinking when I put in 5:30 to 7:30. They did not change it to save money but to accomodate both groups. There had been many complaints that the times were not good for those who were eating late...

5 to 7 is fine, in that it gives 1st sitting time to stop by for a drink before dining. Nice perk!

On my summer Constellation cruise, we went to the late afternoon time and no one else showed up. We didn't stay long.
I do like being able to wait in a smaller, quieter place for the call to disembark. I've done it twice now and there's hardly anyone else there. There was coffee, juice and pastries, eliminating the need to rush anywhere for breakfast.. Beats being squished into a nightclub, sometimes with nowhere to sit.
I also like the coupons for 20 pieces of free laundry and 90 fee mins. on the internet. There is an extra cocktail party and exclusive tours of the bridge, galley, and backstage. There are other coupons having to do with bingo and the casino, which I don't use.

This varies

Elite requires 10 cruise points which could be as few as 5 two day cruises in a concierge or suite cabin. There is one point awarded for each cruise, an extra point if the cruise is 12 days or longer and another point if the cabin is a suite or Concierge class. The quickest way is to cruise 5 times in a Concierge on a ship such as Millennium which does 5-4-5-5-4 day cruises.

Also depends on when your cruises were to determine the points. Up until four of five years ago you only got one point no matter what you did. They started the new program with extra points for cruises over 12 days and special cabins If your cruises were before the cut off date, then it only counts as one point as they did not make it retroactive. Not sure what the date was.

Must have been before Sept.2007-because right now we have 3. This next cruise is a 12 day; we get 3 as we are in a spa balcony-so we will still be 4 shy.
