Cruising While Tall?

Hello,
SO glad to find this forum!
We have booked our first cruise ever and are very excited... and a little concerned. My husband is 6'9" and I'm worried that our outside standard stateroom on the Infinity might be too small for him. Mostly, the concern is the shower. I'm considering upgrading to Concierge Class but, would that give us more room?

Also, we find often that restaurant dining tables are too short for him to get his legs under. Do any of the venues offer more room than others? We are hoping to eat mostly in MDR.

This is a new one!
I don't think any of the cabins will have much more headroom. The chairs in the MDR are not fixed so that shouldn't be any different. I always think ships are just that bit smaller all round.

I'm just a tad under 6'6" and I have some problems on ships .

Check out the loft cabins on some of the new RCI ships...prices will be lofty as well though...Also, no matter what cabin, you select, the bed length would be an issue, he hopefully can overcome..Wishing you a happy cruise.

Aren't these some of the problems met in everyday life? The real short people will also meet their everyday challenges.

I'm 6'7 and have more than 2" to spare in the cabin. You will not have more head room in Concierge or Aqua Class. The problem that your husband will have is in cabins which have a shower / tub combo. Whenever we stay in a Sky or Celebrity Suite (which has the combo), I have to kneel or sit. Funny to think about, but a pain in the butt.

He's used to stopping when walking through a doorway, so no problem there...but you will be fine in the cabin. : )

I have a long torso, but still did not have any problems at the table in the MDR, or specialty restaurants. He should be fine.

Mermen:Thank you so much for some practical information. I will look into requesting a shower chair so that the hubs doesn't have to bend over all the time in the shower. He already has a bad back, so we are hoping to avoid a visit to the ship's doc. :-)
