Default Kid's Club????

We're considering a Celebrity Cruise for our next cruise vacation.

Does anyone have experience with Kid's clubs on celebrity?

I know they are not intended to be a family cruise line; but neither is HAL and they have an amazing kid's club.

We sailed the old Mercury in Alaska in 2003 with our then 10 yr old son and he loved the kids club. It was summer so there were quite a few kids on the ship. Groups of kids were broken up by ages.

On my Celebrity cruise last October, I was not aware of one. I am cruising Celebrity again in 3 weeks - I will let you know when I return if that is of any help.

I saw many families on my Celebrity cruises and friends of ours said their kids enjoyed the the events provided for them.

thank you everyone!

Annie - if you remember, please poke your head into the kid's club and see if the kid's look they are having fun!. I remember when I picked my kid's up at Club Hal on Eurodam, they never wanted to leave ... everyone was laughing and having fun. On Adventure Ocean (FOTS) .... the kids always seemed to be having story time and expected to site still and listen.

It might just be that I have some odd ducks for kids, but they fair better in a kid's club with fewer kids, even if there are not many activiites. My kids enjoy engaging with an adult ... and I think when there are too many kids (like on Disney or FOTS) .... they just retreat and watch others.

Celebrity has excellent childrens clubs. My kids grew up with Celebrity cruises, having gone on a number of cruises over all ages from 5 to adult. They have a lot better individualized attention than many of the other cruise lines. My kids like them better than RC or the Big REd Boat when it had the Disney characters on it. My son has special needs and he was taken care of very well.

Don - thank you! That is what I was hoping to hear! I heard elsewhere, that my Platinum Status on Royal will allow me to sail as Select on Celebrity, and I'm really looking forward to this.

I want to compare HAL to X and then make a decision on a line I'd prefer to accrue loyalty with.

We sailed HAL with our son too and the Club Hal was great as well. He had a really good time. He was 9 at the time.

Yes, you can become Select on Celebrity however you have to take a couple of steps in order to get that status. YOu have to call Celebrity and get a Captains Club number (have your royal #) and then have it associated with your reservation... There are a couple of benefits but they really get nice at Elite.
