Silhouette off Grand Cayman
Got back Sunday from a great cruise on Silhouette!!! It was our first cruise on Celebrity. The ship was beautiful! The weather could not have been better!!! I am now a two cruise line person. RCCI & Celebrity.
Having a cocktail on the Sunset Deck. Leaving Labadee
There was only a couple of things that fell short. The ship was dead after 11 P.M. The disco/dance club Quasar was real disappointment! While they stayed open late the DJ played music that did not cater to the people who were on the ship. Classic rock, pop, reggae or 80's music would have worked a lot better than the modern dance/techno. The club was almost always empty. The one night we went to the club they held a New Years Eve party. After midnight there was hardly anyone in the club. We requested several songs like "Could you be loved" and what few people were there got up and danced. As soon as the song was over the format return to drum machine driven crap. Another comlaint would be the mundane and repetitive music they played at the bars.
Quasar empty on the last night of the cruise...
I was disappointed with the lawn area. Maybe I just don't get it? To me it was a novelty that took up a lot of space. Much of the grass was dead and areas were roped off for repairs. I think another pool area may have been a better choice as the two main pool were always crowded. But that's just me.
Ensemble Lounge featured a jazz band called South Central from Argentina. They were excellent! Our other favorite bar was the Martini Bar. It was always open later and featured an ice bar.
At port in Labadee
The food was excellent! My girlfiend is Gluten Free and while he was not pampered the same way she was on Oasis she always had plenty of options. The AquaSpa Cafe located in the Solarium offered lots of healthy and gluten free options for breakfast and lunch. We ate dinner at the Grand Cuvee Restaurant (main dinning room) every night and never felt the need to hit one of the specialty restaurants. We snacked often at the Oceanview Cafe the buffet. Lot's of options. Great salad bar and dessert bar!
At port in Cozumel
We have been to Grand Cayman & Cozumel before so we were really looking forward to Jamaica and Labadee. Both these countries were beautiful!!! In Jamaica we did the Tubing/Dunns River Falls excursion offer by the Celebrity. We loved both parts! My only complaint would be that Dunns River Falls was a little crowded but I guess that's to be expected.

Labadee was beautiful. Many people who were returning said that they have expanded and it's a lot nicer than it was years ago.
A must see on Silhouette is the Sin City Comedy. The stand-up comedians were really funny! But it's for adults!
Mike Pace was hilarious!!!
It was a great vacation and I look forward to crusing on RCCL and Celebrity again!!! I would sail on Silhouette again in a heartbeat!
Thanks for sharing.
Nice honest review; beautiful pics, did you go to any of the shows; what kind of shows did they have onboard? My wife and I are looking to do a cruise to the Eastern Med, and Celebrity is one of the cruise lines we are looking at.
In fairness to Celebrity our last cruise was on Oasis where we thought just about every show was great!
Thanks for the feedback. I have sailed Allure with Chicgo and Blue Planet. It's hard to measure up to those shows; however Norwegian has Blue Man Group.
Enjoyed hearing about your Celebrity cruise, some great pics too.
Nice review and pictures Beachbum!!
I just saw this post...I don't pop into Celebrity too often:p
Nice pics we are on her in November on the other itinerary. It looks like a beautiful ship. We had a sunset deck on the Solstice when we cruised the Med 2 years ago. I loved the views form deck, especially Kotor but hated the longgg walk to elevator stairs.
This time we just have a mid ship balcony.
