I'd love to hear some stories about some of the "Kuki" tablemates people have ended up with on a cruise!!!
I've had quite a few, and probably I've ended up on some of my tablemates lists for this category <VBG>
The best story may be when we had three tables of friends on the Rhapsody cruising to Hawaii. All our tables were located next to each other in the dining room.
I told everyone it was our anniversary (a lie) and that although it may sound strange the theme song from the Beverly Hillybillies was kind of "OUR SONG" (also a lie). I asked them if, as a special surprise for Mrs. Kuki, if they'd sing it to her.
It was amazing to watch 25 friends rise to their feet during dinner and sing the theme song for the Beverly Hillbillies. I thought I was going to pee my pants I was laughing so hard.
OMG, Kuki, no wonder your name is MUD. Why does that wonderful woman put up with you?
On my three cruises, we have always had lovely tablemates. Our last cruise on Millie....we had the nicest group of people. As a matter of fact, we plan to keep in touch.
Maybe in the future I will have some "kuki" tablemates (maybe even the famous KUKI himself).
I guess I would have to say on our last cruise when we had two gay guys at our table. They were so funny to listen to and watch. They would get in a little tiff at dinner and the he-she would leave the table in a huff. The he bought a ring at one of the ports for the he-she and just gushed over it. By the last night I told my husband it was his turn to sit next to our gay "friends" and deal with it!
So far we've been fortunate to have a great bunch of table mates on every cruise, just hope it continues. As for your question Brittany, yes you can ask to change tables if you want to, and they will certainly try to accomodate you, good luck.
We've always had wonderful tablemates and I was fortunate enough (or dumb enough) to be part of the group that sang the Theme song from the Beverly Hillbillies to Kuki and Geela. So I guess I must say that the Kukiest tablemate I have ever had was "The Man Himself" KUKI.....One of the better parts of that is you get to be tablemates with Mrs Kuki and that in itself is a treat. :-)
I guess the strangest one for me was on the Cunard Adventurer, I was working in the Casino on board and we ate in the passenger restaurant. This one trip a young lady who I was friendly with insisted I sit at her table for dinner on night, I cheecked with the head waiter to see if this would be ok and getting permission she led me to her dinner table which also happend to be the Captains table!
I don't know who was more surprised the captain or me but I know I never ate so fast in my life to get out of there before getting myself into more trouble.
It turned out ok as the captain was a very understanding person.
My first cruise - about 10 years ago on the Dolphin something. I was single and traveling alone.
I was placed at a round table with 5 other people.
1 auto repo woman, missing a front tooth and rather large (although I am also - so not a cut) with clothing 2 dress sizes too small so her brests almost shot out of the top of everything. She slept with the bus boy on the 3rd or 4th night and proceeded to flirt with him the rest of the cruise.
1 auto repo woman traveling with the one above - married, but traveling without her husband - same amount of eye-popping cleavage as her companion. This one slept with the assistant captain/assistant cruise director/assistant wine steward - well assistant someone. The whole table had free wine at dinner every night!!
1 very nice elderly man (85 I think) who proposed to me on the last night - NO, I didn't sleep with him or give him any indication I was interested and NO I did not accept the ring.
My tablemates were not necessarily "Kuki" but we did have something unusual.
On the Grandeur of the Seas in Feb of 99, one couple were from Miami via Cuba and another were from Toronto via St. Vincent's in the Caribbean. The first night the guy from Toronto kept telling the guy from Miami how familiar he looked. After some discussion about travel, family in other states, etc. it turned out that they had met at the largest Flea Market in Fl.
Seems the guy from Miami has a Tshirt stall at the Flea Market and the guy from Toronto, when visiting his brother in Miami, went to the Flea Market and bought Tshirts from his now tablemate. Just goes to show that it really is 'A Samll World Afterall'.
