I agree!! Love Boat is one of my favorite shows. They don't make shows like that anymore. I love seeing all the celebs that were passengers on those trips. The show had it all, stars, comedy, romance, laugh tracks, hugh cabins, the occasional intrigue, meet a stranger-fall in love-break up-get back together- marriage, all in one hour. And I dont think anyone ever lost their luggage. All our daily problems were put on hold while Love Boat was on. I just found out the Pacific Princess will be doing 7 day runs NY to Bermuda. Very tempting; do you think they could get the old crew back for one more cruise?
When we started cruising, years ago, there really were ships like the Love Boat. We used to sail on the Britanis, regularly, and got to know many of the crew members. In fact, we often ran into repeat passengers we had sailed with on previous cruises and it was like one big family. We still run into people. passengers and crew members, we met on the Britanis, on other ships and we reminisce about her. When she went down, last October, I was heartbroken. There were a few other ships, like her, that friends of ours used to sail on, such as the Dolphin IV and the Emerald Seas... Don't get me wrong, we love to sail on the new mega-ships, but there was something special about the older, small ships that you just don't find today.
