Default Pre Cruise Ritual?

I was wondering what you do?

My wife and I start to hit the tanning beds a month or so in advance. This year sooner because winter in MN has been terrible.

We both try to lose weight. Wellllll, we try all year but when the cruise gets closer than six months, it helps with the incentive.

My web surfing on cruise stuff increases ten fold. Thank you CM!

I find myself getting lost in thought about rum drinks and people saying, "No problema".

My wife starts buying more swim and formal clothes. "This will be enough now for next year too!" Righhhht!

Hmmmm, can't think of anymore right now.

there are sooooo many things I do. But the funniest, I guess, is when I get my docs, I read and re-read and re-read them until the day finally arrives. I don't know what I think I might find there. But, I could recite them by heart if need be.
I read everything I can get my hands on that pertains to cruising. And spend hours and hours on the CruiseMates site.
There is nothing better than planning for a cruise (except actually being on a cruise).

We pre-plan our wardrobe and are convinced that we need nothing new. One by one the old items are replaced with new, quietly!

So Doug,

Are you a repeater or a first time cruiser?

Very clever, Jeff! Your question to Doug R. is just too funny.
My ritual is like Mary Lou's - reading the documents and cruise literature over & over again. It's so exciting to keep reading about what you have to look forward to.

First time. Will probably change my pre-cruise ritual next time.

My daughter got a package from our cruise agent and thought, goodie, the cruise docs. she too likes to read her docs until they are practically falling apart. She opens the package and they are for an RCI cruise on the Viking Serenade for a couple living in Miami. She is single, living in Washington, DC and we are sailing on HAL's Amsterdam. So much for reading cruise docs.

Carole

PS I do that too and go through everything to make sure I have filled out absolutely EVERYTHING that needs filling out.

I am a first-timer, but I think I know what my ritual will be: skipping down the halls at work with a big, silly grin on my face....

And counting days, backwards, out loud, as often as possible.

I haven't even gone on the cruise and I'm practically hooked!
