Default SOS - Birth Cert.

We just got our cruise information in the mail. My travel agent never mentioned the need for a birth certificate, and we are sailing 4/1. I live 400 miles away form where I was born and I'm afraid it will take longer than four weeks to get a birth certificate. Any suggestions, ideas or comments? Will they accept another form of ID? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Britt...if you're going to be cruising out of the US you will need a birth certificate or a passport. Call the County Office immediately and see what you can do to expedite getting a copy of your birth certificate. In most counties they charge $5-$10 for the copy and they might be able to send it overnight (providing you pay the fee). Good luck...Vickie

Thanks for your reply Vickie. We are leaving Ft. Lauderdale and then going to St. Marteen, St. Thomas, and Bahamas. I'm sure those are considered "out of the US." I better get going. Thanks again.

Wow, Michael that's a great internet recommendation especially for unknowing passengers like Britt. Even though the facts are written in so many places and brochures, people still miss the details everyday. Good Advice
