Default Can we start a day-cruise topic?

Can we start a TOPIC on day cruises? Anything from port based excursion catamarans to (semi) full fledged gambling vessels. I would like a forum to share. We recently did a Sunday Brunch cruise from Palm Beach aboard the (very nicely remodeled) Palm Beach Princess. Prices were quite modest, service was excellent, food was remarkable. On board amenities were varied, we opted for a cabin to stow our gear (+35.00), it was straight out of north sea ferry. So what? we had a private bath and oasis. It was a wonderful day. I think this could be important info was we cruise afficiandos that can only steal a few hours. Yes, Casino cruise odds were not great but personnel were as good as you would experience on any 7 day cruise.

I would like critiques from all ports regarding day excursions. If this already exsists I apologize for not having discovered it.-J

Discovery has a daily cruise from Port Everglades to Freeport and back. The ship is a decent size and the entertainment isn't too bad. They serve beakfast, lunch and dinner "buffet style," but the food is, surprisingly, good. They also have an optional sit-down dinner. They used to be catered by Apollo, who used to do Dolphin, Commodore, Chanris, etc and who still does Celebrity. I don't know if they've changed caterers recently. The big draw, however, is a very large casino. They run specials in the local paper for $129 to $149 per person, cabin extra. It's not the equivalent of a real cruise, but it's a very nice boat ride for a day...
