probably very simple but could someone please tell me what waitlisted means.I have looked into booking a cruise but was told the ship I was interested had been waitlisted. this is only my second time cruising so I am a newbie on some of the terms.

Generally means that the ship and/or specific rooms are full. If someone cancels, then they will start offering the accommodations to people on the waitlist.
