What is your favorite port and why? To date my favorite port is a toss up between
Antigua and St. John. Both for the same reasons. I love that neither is spoiled with much commercialism. We were able to get a real "feel" for the culture of both islands.
I would love to hear what you think.

We came in just at sunrise. A few hardy souls were on the fantail looking at the first light hitting the Opera House and the Coathanger Bridge. The only sounds were the occasional "OMIGAWD" and the click-whirr of cameras.
In the Caribbean for sheer beauty of the port, I'd pick Curacao and Le Soufriere.
i like different island for different things...i love cruising into charlotte amalie..i think th eharbor is beautiful,as is st georges in grenada..i love the friendly people of aruba and barbados...and how could i not add st thomas and st martin for the shopping....
I will say that the port I found most enjoyable was Barcelona. A wonderful city with great transportation, history and architecture. The two days we spent there while on the R2 were the best port days yet.

Surprisingly, I found Belize to have been my most enjoyable port of call, mainly due to the relative lack of tourists and the suprising amount of places to see and activities too partake in. A real mix of Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean all thrown into one place. Also, unlike some ports, they WANT us there!!!
My favorite port was Bora Bora, in Tahitti. Absolutely the most beautiful place I have ever seen. A true paradise. If anyone has seen the film beach, that's about how magical this place was to me. If you ever get a chance to go there, do not pass it up, by far the best beaches I have ever seen.
Robo.......I agree with you! I thought I was given a glimpse of Heaven awakening in the morning in French Polynesia and stepping out on to our verandha aboard the Paul Gauguin in Cook's Bay. The scenery is breathtaking, magical, beautiful etc. etc. The nights were star studded.you could almost reach up and touch a star!!!!!!!! I would encourage all who love to cruise and love the islands of the Eastern & Western Caribbean
to explore the idea of a cruise in the South Pacific. MJ
