Would love to hear from anyone who has been on this ship recently since we had heard that there was some refurbishing needed in public areas (upholstery). We have been sailing on newer ships for the past five or six voyages, but the ports on our September 4th upcoming trip were some which we had not visited. Would love any input on the condition of the ship both in public areas or staterooms. We have a Guaranteed "D" booked.
I have a friend who sailed on the Legend this past spring, and below are some of her comments (edited to take out names), etc. I sailed on the Legend thru the Canal and love the layout of the ship.
Enjoy....it's a cruise!
.... The cruise to Australia, Bali, and Singapore was a lot of fun. I heard a lot of complaints about the food on this cruise. Even loyal Royal Caribbean travelers were complaining. My friends, didn't have many good comments about the food. To me the food was sometimes overcooked and occasionally tasteless. Princess seems to have a better selection of entrees. On RC almost every night the choices were fish, beef, lamb, or vegetarian.
The entertainment was another area receiving lots of complaints. My friend
only went to see about 3 shows and didn't have many kind words to
describe them. Rather than have mostly big productions with the cruise
line singers and dancers, the entertainment consisted of several
Australian groups (classical and acapella jazz), magician, comedian, and
juggler. I heard more negative comments about the acapella jazz group
than any of the other entertainment. I enjoyed the jazz group although
I had to agree that their selection of songs was not the best.
The shore excursions were interesting. I got to see several waterfalls,
the Great Barrier Reef, lots of wildlife, rice fields, and beautiful
country. Jan and I did a raft trip down the Auyung River in Bali. That
was my favorite shore excursion. The weather was Hot and Humid the
entire trip. The humidity was the one thing I especially didn't like
during this vacation.
