Default VERY SAD NEWS

Lets all take a little time out to say a prayer for 3 American women who died in Cabo San Lucas yesterday. They were Carnival cruise passengers on a glass bottom boat tour when the boat capsized. Apparantly everyone on board was wearing a life jacket, but not everyone had it fastened properly. How terribly, terribly sad. Lets pray for them and their families.

Jennifer:
I just heard this story on my local news report. What a tragedy! I feel just terrible that something like this happened.

This gives me the chills, what a terrible story.

I was on one of these last May and even though I am an OK swimmer and I am not afraid of water.. I was nervous all along, sometime the waves can be pretty impressive while getting out of the bay.

I read the news release about it, where the Captain (I believe) stated that everyone had a life jacket on... but I seriously doubt it. I think he was just trying to cover his you-know-what. Most of us have taken excursion boats at one time or another-- have you ever been issued a life jacket? I know I haven't! They're usually in a container that's marked, but in an emergency like the one that just happened, who would have time to put one on? Something like this really makes you rethink the whole excursion boat thing, doesn't it?

We went on one of these Glass Bottom boats in May and were never issued a life jacket. Water was really quite rough at times, would have been difficult not being tossed into the rocks even with a life jacket on. Guess we don't think about these things happening when we get into these small tour boats. Our prayers for the families of these poor people.
