I just happened to fall into a couple of shows on cruising on the Travel Channel last night. I was so excited to see Anne - I called my husband in saying, "Look, Honey, Anne Campbell's on the show!" He hasn't been hanging out on the boards, so he basically thought I was crazy. It was great to put a face and voice with the name!
Well, Anne has also been interviewed on CNN before and I saw that. She definitely has a lot of credibility or she would not be featured on these TV shows. Thanks, Anne, keep up the good work!
Sure wish we were able to access the Travel Channel. Cablevision doesn't carry that channel and we keep missing it. Guess I just have to move someplace else :-)
I was lucky to meet Anne and Paul in NY for a day before our Millen cruise last fall. They are a couple of the nicest people u'd want to meet. Both are charming, and fun, and have a wonderful sense of humor.
I've got to cruise with Paul once... and think we finally get to cruise with Anne on the Golden Princess for the CruiseMates New Years Bash.
Anne & Paul stopped me on the Millennium because I was wearing a "Cruise Addicts" tee shirt. We spent the following few hours just talking. Later caught up with Paul in the hot tub, and Anne in the restaurant, great people. We need some CruiseMates Tee Shirts!!!!
I have read many of Anne's articals over the last few years and seen her on
numours shows. I have not had the pleasure of meeting her.
For years I had also followed the writings and presentations of another
cruise personality - Ethel Blum. I thought she was so very knowledgable
and was really looking forward to taking her class and meeting her at
the Cruise-A-Thon last year in Vancouver.
I attended her seminar and was pretty dissappointed - an hour where she
only talked about a couple of her cruises and really didn't "shed" any light
on the topic of selling to upscale cruisers. After the meeting I stayed and
waited in line to meet her - along with several other people. By the time
we got to the top of the line - she was actually rude and very shallow.
She decided that she was tired of greeting people and not receiving
the level of adoration I guess she was expecting. People were asking her
cruise questions and she only wanted to talk about herself.
The moral of this story might be that maybe we should be glad to enjoy
the presentations that these folks make and not expect them to really be
what we have invisioned.
Dr. Marc Mancini who does CLIA's tapes and many presentations in the
cruise industry was also at the show - and meeting him was definitely a
pleasure. He is truly committed and as cruise crazy as many of us -
I suppose it's all in the personality !!
