I'd have to say breaking my daily routine-- not making the bed - I do straighten it out, not taking the dog out for his 5:45/6:00am walk not having to worry about going to work-- etc.
Nice to see you post DisneyBlonde--
Since I have discovered the Thallassotherapy pool on the Celebrity ship's that is a must for my cruise vacation experience. I enjoy lounging in this area with a cold drink of the day in hand.
I find it necessary and important to be on time when at home, but on my days off, or after work, or especially on a cruise - NO WATCH
No phone, tv, no making the bed........and the list goes on.
Disneyblonde -- when I sit at table, I actually wait for someone to place a lovely cloth napkin on my lap; then reality sets in & I grumble to myself and try to unfold a small paper napkin. My saving grace is our building faces Boston Harbor so I can watch the sailboats & other ships! Of course, I do get funny looks as I "lurch" from side to side.
Okay, I am going to have to also going to have to exclude food AND DRINK because those are probably my first two over-indulgences.
Hmmm...third indulgence I guess would be simply be ON a ship sitting on deck with a beer staring at the ocean, without worrying about things back home, and spending time with my man. That makes me feel very indulged. Simple pleasures are the best....
Pardon me...all of you people discarding your timepieces...are you all NCL Freestyle cruisers? Otherwise you all are slaves to the dining times!!!! I can't wait for my 1st Freestyle cruise this Jan on the Sky.
My indulgence would be, 3 massages in a week, and only checking email twice!
Not having to cook! Boy, I hate cooking! I love just ordering whatever I want and having it appear before me! No pots, pans, crumbs on the table and floor to clean up, no kids saying, "I don't like that", no husband asking if there's more steak, no dishwasher to load and unload and no beds to be made either!
Ahhhh.....now I really can't wait for our cruise!! 24 days....
I generally spend the majority of my time on a cruise apologizing to Mrs. Kuki for all the things our new cruisemates tell I have said about her. For my sins, I over-indulge Mrs. Kuki
A wise friend once told me.. Its better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission!
NOt cooking is at the top of my list and of course NOT making a bed for a week is up there too. I also enjoy lounging out on the pool deck, think thats one of the reasons I enjoy the Caribbean so much.
Sleeping in! At home I never get to stay up late or sleep in because of my work hours. My husband and I always get late seating and then don't worry about how late it gets before we turn in. For me, that's true decadence!
Getting up when I want and going for breeky with out having to cook it myself. Plus staying up till the wee hours then going out on the stern deck and wtching the wake with a good brandie.....or a saphire martini, can't beat that Gin........eh.
A glass of good champagne, sitting on my balcony staring at the ocean and pinching myself that I am actually here.
(My husband hates champagne, so the only time I ever get a glass is on a cruise, or maybe new years eve--but new years eve, its cheap champagne!)
Can I just say all of the above, everyone has totally covered all the indulgences that are great about cruising. Five days to the 9:00 p.m. sailing of the Royal Princess and I will be in the Horizon Lounge with my margarita raised as we sail by the Statue of Liberty! Cannot wait to see the New York City skyline at night! I am so excited!!! Susan and Carole will be cruisin' very soon
Mine are two, First is on deck in the evening with my darling watching the moon reflecting off the water and second is that the biggest decision I have to make is what show I am going to, or if I want that second desert!
Sitting on the balcony with hubby watching the moon and stars just before calling it a night. No cooking no cleaning just enjoying the sea! only 30 more days till the Sea Princess and counting.

Maybe it sounds strange to many of you, but to those of you that suffer from joint and/or muscle pain I can tell you that the steam room and sauna are pure heaven! I hit the gym at least once a day and then get into the steam for 30 minutes, to the sauna for 20 and back to the steam for another 15-20 and then into the whirlpool for another 30 minutes. Man, life just don't get no better <VBG>.
On a more normal note, I take great pleasure on meeting and talking with crewmembers from differant countries, fascinating people with amazing stories!
