I always carry my film in a clear ziplock bag and ask for hand inspection at security checkpoints to avoid subjecting it to X-rays. I've never had a problem with this at either the airports or cruise terminals but would like to hear from anyone who has recently encountered the upgraded procedures that could tell me if they have had any problems.

Re: Film inspection
Tom, I used to go through the hand check myself for all of my film...but I have since purchased 2 large lead pouches at the camera store. I put film in one and my loaded camera in the other....they have never been harmed by xray...even in Europe. If you decide to go this route, make sure you buy bags that are rated for 1000 speed film. I believe I paid $12 per bag....well worth it. Mgram
