Temporarily offline

Hi folks,
I am sorry but I am temporarily offline except through this AOL address due to problems with my server bellsouth.net. It seems that bellsouth will cancel your account without notification or any proof of any misconduct if anyone makes a complaint. Someone, (I have an idea who it might have been), made a complaint to my ISP that I was advertising and violating the charter of the newsgroup rec.travel.cruises. This is not true. I did make an announcement because of repeated requests for information that we would have a live chat with JB from Carnival on Oct 8th in rescheduling his previously announced chat. This in no way violates the charter of that newsgroup and live chats are announced there for many websites including mytravelco and CruiseCritic and Cruiseaddicts. For some reason, someone took extreme offense to the mention of Cruisemates there and made a unsigned, or at least they will not tell me who, complaint to my ISP that I was in violation of the newsgroup charter. Without telling me or giving me a chance to defend myself or even find out why, bellsouth.net terminated my account. I am appealing it and trying to find out just what exactly is going on but until I can get this straight e-mail to me on the internet is not possible. I am however able to access e-mail through this jebragg50@aol.com account if anyone needs to get in touch with me.
Somehow it seems very wrong that one can be subjected to this type of treatment and punishment without ever being told it is being done, much less why. Rest assured this is not over with and I will be back on the internet shortly. Trust me when I say that the people that have caused this unjust action, and possibly those that have taken this action, will not be happy when this is over.

I'm really upset that your ISP would close your account just like that?? Wondered why e-mails were coming back, now I know. I'm sure you will get to the bottom of this and I hope find out who the complaint is, keep us informed. In fact I did see your post and did not think anything in the post was a violation, go get em Robo!!!

Boy did they mess with the wrong person!!! I had heard that this sort of thing could happen, but never knew of a case where it did. Seems very unfair to me.
I'm sure you will resolve the issue. But, until then....I sure will miss you here!

I don't understand this whole thing.

Happened to a friend of mine who had their company name as part of their address and someone liked the name. They tried to buy them out and when they refused ..POOF! suddenly the buyers found a loophole in some internet law and my friends lost the name and website when the ISP shut them out....I don't understand it either but it all sounds very unfair.

Be careful, Big-Brother wanna-be AOL will do that too, and they do read your mail, had a friend whose child was sending out some dirty pictures, AOL sent her a letter informing her that it was against policy for her to use her e-mail for that purpose.

Yeah Rocster I know. Differance is that I have done nothing wrong. I haven't violated any rules, charters, or anything. I also don't have anything to do with any porno and have it filtered out so that I don't even get their stupid e-mail spams. You really should have to do somethng wrong before you are punished and I am highly upset that one individual has made this decision based on one complaint that has no merit!
