Next to Diving, Snorkeling, and Exploring new places....first thing that comes to mind is the 12 foot dive at Stingray City! Way cool, and I have a great video to remember it by.
Mine has to be riding a helicopter up to the dog sled camp on the glaciers in Alaska.. then sledding on the glacier. I'm hoping next time they'll let me be lead dog <G>
Helicopter ride over Maui ( Blue Hawaiian ) and the volcano's on Hilo. It was awesome but a little scary! I didn't get sick but some of the other passengers did. Something I will never forget and I have the video's.
Mine was definately the combination kayaking and Dunns River Falls. I can't believe I actually made it to the top of the falls..... I wasn't even gonna try since I am terrified of heights! I'm glad I attempted it! The kayaking was a kick too. We actually did it without me clobbering Divetex with my oar! ;o)
Lulu, where did you do your white water rafting in Costa Rica.....what port? That sounds like a kick!
If Jacques Costeau...and Divetex...say that Palancar is the best dive in the world, who am I to argue. The lava tubes off the SW coast of Maui aren't bad either.
What's the most memorable? Looking down the throat of the biggest barracuda I ever saw off Bermuda. The locals tell you that barracuda attacks are one in a million. I couldn't help but wonder if that fish had already bypassed 999,999 others.
The best trip...north from Juneau to Seward. It's so reassuring to know that such majestic beauty remains unspoiled by the human condition.
My best one was the all day dive excursion in Belize. The boat ride out to the private island was a lot of fun and the island was gorgeous. I would like to go back someday and spend a week there, but then I would have to give up a cruise, tuff choice.
The Everglades tour we took before our cruise is our favorite so far. We never knew it was such an awesome place!
Michelle - Can you tell me about the Jolly Roger Pirate Cruise? I think our sons and Tracey's kids would have a blast with that tour next summer on our cruise. Thanks!
Yes on Stingray City (just two weeks and two days until we do that again then, maybe, the Palancar for a half-day snorking trip if I get my work done fast enough while we are on Coz.)
But I have to give #1 to having Russian visas and spending hours for two days in the Hermitage.
We booked the white water rafting on board "Legend of the Seas". At that time they offered two-one for the west side of the country and the other for the east side. The west side is tamer than the east side. Both are lots of fun. I would like to go back and do it again.
Flying over Glacier Bay in a small plane on my birthday. The scenery was amazing: mountains that leapt out of the ocean -- a scary, foggy mountain pass -- a moose in the wild! -- multiple wing spins over the stunning blue ice. My wife said that I had the biggest grin when I returned to the ship.
