Are there any agents in Florida or cruise line officies that specialize in the day or week before an underbooked cruise departs. I thought I had heard folks discuss this on a cruise we took years ago. We are going to be in Floriday soon and would appreciate this information. Thanks. j
I think that since 9/11 the rules have changed and no new passengers can be booked on ships 72 hours before sailing so the company has time to check the passenger lists against the FBI lists of naughty people.
There are lots of places on-line that are last minute vacation deals sites. The deals are usually about 1 month out or so.
You won't get on the day before, but you may be able to pick up a deal more than 72 hours out through a TA. The days of going to the pier and getting onboard a ship are forever gone, much less getting a good deal!
