If you send e-mail to the same person all the time (like your best friend), try this shortcut. In Outlook 2000 and 98, you can create a desktop shortcut that will open a blank, preaddressed message that's all ready to send to your favorite e-mail address.
Simply right-click in a clear area of your desktop and select New, Shortcut from the pop-up menu. In the text box, type mailto: and enter the e-mail address of your choice, leaving no spaces. Click the Next button and choose a name for your shortcut (such as your friend's name). Click Finish, and a new shortcut will appear on your desktop. Double-click the icon, and Outlook will open with your recipient's address in the To: text box. Just compose and send as normal.
Pretty nifty, eh?
