Rhapsody out of Galveston is a fun cruise. I noticed no drop off in either food or service on RCI, even though cruise prices are lower. The food was very good, particularly the soups and breads, and we enjoyed every meal. There was a chocolate buffet and lobster at dinner one night. However, the pizza, which we didn't try, looked anemic.
For entertainment, they provided three comedians, one magician , one singer and two reviews which was more like Carnival than our other RCI cruises. One of the comedians did adult comedy at ll30 p.m. the last night. The piano player at the Schooner Bar had sing-a-longs several nights which was great!!
I teamed up with three men from the Houston area, and we became the Studmuffins, an infamous group which won most of the trivia and Name That Tune contests. For trivia, our name should have been the Brainmuffins. I think Kuki would make a good Studmuffin.
By the way, there were several pairs of antlers on the ship.
Prices on Grand Cayman looked expensive, though our daughter and son-in-law did find a good bargain on Fossil watches. I still don't know why people buy rum cake at those high prices. If I wanted one, I could probably make my own for much less and put something like Meyer's 151 proof in it. They did confiscate liquor and wine whenever people entered the ship.
This was not really a review, only comments. If anyone has any questions about Rhapsody, feel free to ask.
Welcome home, our noble Poet Lariat! Glad you and Peggy enjoyed your cruise, Paul, and glad to know the Rhapsody offers a good trip. I figured they would. How was Progreso?
