Default Officer's Mess

It brings a whole new meaning to the term "Officer's Mess" when a team of landlocked cruisers dine at the Captain's Table!

Just who is responsible?

Watch this space.

Queeg ... wondering where to get cheap third world labor to help with the clean up

Uh, sounds like you need a little help. I am just a little too far away to come to your rescue!

When I was in the military we always thought of the "Officers Mess" as anything they did and we enlisted had to clean up and/or fix. <>

Well, there were only phour of us this time rather than phiphty.

Much as I love OreckMan, I'd rather have a date with Mr. Clean.

Oh, I'm married to him. And the sound of the dishwasher is heard in our land.

We had way too much fun and Nora insisted that I post this recipe. Bob went nuts over it.

Buy three things: Brie, frozen puff pastry, jar of raspberry preserves.

(See, it's getting difficult already!)

Thaw one slab of puff pasty (labor-intensive)

Carve rind off one side of brie. (Be careful, the knife might be sharp.)

Slather brie with raspberry preserves.

Put thawed puff pastry on top, rotate so that becomes the bottom.

(Degree in physics recommended for this step)

Crunch up the pastry so it looks halfway nice. (MFA would be a good degree for this operation)

Place in 350 oven until brown (use pan). Remove. (Don't forget that step) Allow to rest 20-30 minutes. Eat with water biscuits.

If you have the energy and time to really gild the lily, place sliced almonds over the raspberry stuff and throw a few fresh raspberries on top before serving.

Lisa...my thoughts exactly...only major difference is for the Phrolic there were a LOT of pink things added to the mess...excuse me...mix. And a word to the wise....OreckMan does NOT do kitchens!!!!! We have lived in this house 9 years and at least 3 times a week he asks me where to put things when he unloads the dishwasher.......oh how tempted I AM sometimes....!!!!! <VBEG>

Hmmmmm, pamda.......that recipe sounds awfully familiar! <g>

Now Andy,

Quit complaining, you had company on a Friday nite and didn't have to sit there and watch some old war movie!!! A little wine, can make it easier to do dishes, and less whining makes it better.
Thanks so much.... We loved it..
Mgram and Pam thanks for the brie recipe..
Now what about the Beef Bourginone..... ( do you dare divulge via email... ? ) Bob was in heaven with it....
I could use it on days when I am in hell, or in the *****es dog house.

I can ***** you know... We had a nice drive home..
Glad to be back at homestead..

Andy and Pam ,
Thanks from Nora and Bob Kennedy
