Did you want it just to be your name (Rick, Jim, Patti, etc.) or did you want it to say something more about you? Or did you want to hide behind a name that said nothing about you? Or somewhere in between?
I chose PAMDA because PANDA was already taken on a board many years ago, and far, far away.
PANDA (as in my company) came about because A&P was already taken by that pesky grocery company. So, it's PandA as in Pam and Andy.
"Lady Jag" was given to me by a friend when I was in the process of buying a Jaguar S Type. I like to drive fast, especially around curves, and this person said I reminded him of a Lady (something - he couldn't remember her name) that drove Jaguars in Monte Carlo. The "Jag" part just kinda fit and he started calling me that. In the meantime, we decided not to get a Jag, but a Lincoln LS (built on the Jag chasis and very similar). I felt kinda funny using that name and wanted a change, but everyone seemed to know me by it. Hence, the Bobbie (Lady Jag) name.
I was on the net almost when it started back with a 24k modems. Many Moons ago. I was known as Ricky in San Diego, it metamorphisized to Rickynsd. Then after a revamp of computer technology via cable etc. AOL changes I became rixnsd. Is still me. Richard the San Diego guy. Rix :-)
When I first found the bb's all I could think of was my name Kathy R. After trying to think of something that would go with my love of sailing, cruising and scuba diving the name SeaFan just seemed to fit all of those. I am a fan of the sea, love being on the water liquid or frozen. Anyone tried ice sailing it is a lot of fun and fast.
I live in the mountains of Central AZ. Payson is 5,000' and the Mogollon (mo-gee-on) Rim is about 30 miles north of us. The Rim is 2,000' higher than Payson & extends east & west as far as the eye can see! Around this area it's known as Rim Country, hence the rim in my board name.
Location: Greater Tampa Bay area (south of the BIG BRIDGE!)
Re: How Did You Choose ....
Mine is pretty easy, too......once we knew the gender of MY very first grandchild I set myself to the job of a new email address.....the long of it is: M Gram 2 A Boy......and board buddies shortened it to Mgram......no point in changing it now.
Ah but to have such a simple story to tell. My story is both long and fascinating <G> but you'll have to wait until the Get Lei'd cruise to hear it, and there will be a cover charge for entrance to the telling.
Kuki.. with thanks to my great great grandfather (hint)
I first started to post as Pat (my name) but just thought of
Seabreez. I then realized after a week that there was a cruise
ship that took on water & sank (Seabreeze) not too long ago.
Cruising is THE sea and breez is what I long to feel up topside,
warm & relaxing.
Bumble Bee is Mavis's pet name for me. I'm Bill B everywhere else; but when I was registering on Cruisemates I thought that was boring and changed... what I should really be using is my eBay 'name' - cruisemonkey.
Well now,,,when I 1st started to post I was known as JoDan,,,,that's me, and husband's name combined,,,,,but one of the other boards I was posting on already had a jodan,,,can you believe it,,,the nerve of them,,,using my name,,,,well anyhow,,,I had to change,,,so I am nuts about traveling,,,,or as my friends say ,,,I am just a nut that likes to travel,,,,take your choice,,,but that's what I am,,,,,Travelnut,,,,Aka,,,Jo
Like Travelnut - I've just combined hubby and me (I?) - Joe and Lin. Promise to do better after we've had our first cruise experience to Panama Canal on Sun Princess 03/06. Any lurkers out there who will be on the same ship? 14 days left!!
Some already know about my name, Robocop. There is a movie and then TV character of this name who was a regular cop and after nearly being killed in the line of duty the scientists created this steel and flesh supercop from his remains and technology. I was a Motorcycle Officer that was seriously injured in the line of duty and the surgeons put me back together again with steel and wire soooooo.....beside, at the time Humpty-Dumpty didn't fit and even now I don't think so. <>
Now my wife is StarliteGP which is a combination of our official kennel name, Starlite, and the breed of show dogs we have, GP's or German Pinschers.
Hey Fla Jack!!! How's about you come and open up a Welcome Wagon for the CruiseMates Let's Get Lei'd Cruise? I really enjoyed your hospitality last year. And by the way, I have always loved your bb name...reminds me of Panama Jack, coconut suntan oil and well...Florida!
The name Mermaid came to me when trying to think of a bb name for the cruise boards. I have always had long hair, love to swim in and under the sea, and love being close to the ocean, whether it be on a ship or the beach.
OK so I use my real name and have nothing to hide lol----not very original that is-- not hiding that either-- and I can spell it. Yes I was born in April and even married in April---
Ok-- sometimes I do call myself Clueless and that's true to
There were so many Susie, suzie, suzy's and I couldn't get cruisinsusan so I did Susancruzs. I thought I was clever with the spelling until I saw quite a few cruz's! Funny thing, few people call me Susan because I really don't like it but ended up using it! Not rocket science, that's for sure! Susan really is Susie or Sue
