It looks like the schedule is released for the piers in Vancouver for this year.
Have to say I am disappointed that my ship (Radiance of the Seas) will be at the Ballantyne pier, not Canada Place.
Oh well. Need to rethink if I want to stay at Pan Pacific now. Probably will. I thought it would have been so cool to take the elevator down to the pier.
I did look at some other dates - primairly at the beginning and end of the season and RCCL did use Canada Place and Princess was using Ballantyne but for the most part RCCL is using Ballantyne pier.
There are some dates where a ship goes out of one pier and into another upon return.
I think I read 25 minutes from airport to pier. And supposedly the 2 piers are 5 minutes from each other.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
When speaking with Pan Pacific on the phone - they told me to always use a credit card when taking a cab from the airport. Supposedly cab drivers won't give me very good exchange rates but my credit card will .. .
The area surrounding Ballantyne isn't considered the best part of town, even though it isn't all the far from Canada Place.
However if you're getting on a ship there, its THE BEST part of town<G>
Ballantyne is a bit less convenient, in that you need transportation to it, as opposed to staying at the Pan Pacific, or Fairmont Waterfront Hotels and walking to the pier.
But if you're staying anywhere else, there's really no difference.
