I have read recently that food in the hotels on Alaska cruise tours can cost $150 or more per day per person. That would really add to the expense and be an unpleasant surprise to a persons vacation. How true is this, and are there other unexpected costs involved?
Alaska is expensive, consider the fact that many items have to be shipped in and this makes food and most things expensive.
This is true of many destinsations such as Hawaii and other places.
Enjoy the beauty of Alaska, but bring extra money.(its worth it)
Ok my two cents-- it depends where and what you eat-- I was expecting to spend a small fortune on food during our 6 day land tour but it was really the opposite--- and there were 5 of us.
