Default Fantasy Carnival Scam

From the Fayetteville (NC) Observer Times -- For nine months, members of the Graves family looked forward to a winter cruise to the Bahamas. Thirty-five people waited at the Graves' house in
Dillon, S.C. for a chartered bus that would take them to Port Canaveral, Fla. to board the cruise ship.
The bus never arrived. Fantasy Carnival, the cruise line, had canceled the 3 day, 4 night cruise in September. No one told the
group.
The trip had been arranged by Cross Creek Coach, AMA Travel
Unlimited INc. of Fayetteville. The company continued to accept payments from the group until February, according to those that planned to go on the trip.
AMA was the charter bus company used by Cumberland County schools for Massey Hill High School on a trip to Florida
last year that ended when a bus crashed on Interstate 95 in Georgia. On a personal note, we still have a family friend who bears the scars of that accident.
Be aware of cons like this. Don't deal with this company. These people have lost money and won't be cruising. The remainder of the article can be read at www.fayettevillenc.com

It all goes back to get those "ORIGINAL" booking invoices with payments, and keep all the paperwork from the cruiseline, along with your insurance papers!

I'm starting to think that these people had no final documents, and knew nothing about what they should have! This would have been taken care of by Carnival if they had. VERY stinky if you ask me!

Thanks for posting this Steve. It's a real eye opener to first time cruises about keeping all of their documentation together, and going with a legit TA!

Take care!
Jaime

Sounds like a scam by "Cross Country Coach, AMA Travel Unlimited Inc. of Fayetteville". I feel sorry for the people that were taken advantage of. Jaime's right..obtain documentation. And use a charge card. You can always dispute the charges.
