Default Poor Zeus!

Took Zeus to be snipped this morning. They sedated him and we had to lift this 180 lb dog onto the table. No easy chore and he barely fit! To see him just pass out was sort of unerving but at least we wont have to deal with puppies anymore. He will be home this evening.

Hi Carole
Just have to tell you about our black lab and when his day of "snipping" came.
The vet called to inform us that we had almost lost our lab. He had a reaction to
the knock-out drugs and his gum line/mouth turned blue and heart rate dropped.
But they managed to save him. If we are ever faced with "necessary" surgery
at a future date he will have to be carefully monitored. The % rate of this happening
is low but it does occur. We are just thankful that he was OK. Guess we could
use him for stud service - he would like that!! Lol

Carole,
They tried to do that to me once too.... but I fell off the table, hit my head, and went to work for CruiseMates.

Kuki- You are toooooo much!
We found out that Oreo couldn't tolerate the anesthesia, so Zeus gets the snip!

I feel you pain Carole!

We had Sera Fixed, broken,....whatever it's called, 3 weeks ago.

The house sure was quiet without her rowdy butt! Angel went on a hunger strike until she came home!

Her surgery was totally uneventful, and they even pulled her last baby tooth that wouldn't come out (Pugs have a tendancy to try and keep their BIG Canines!) The anesthesia they use now is really good! Sera was wide awake 4 hours later when we picked her up, and was even ready to eat...which we let he do in small amounts. When Angel was done 2 years ago, she was like a rag mop when we picked her up.

I'm sure by this time next week, Zeus will never know what got ahold of him! I'm sure this isd a big relief to y'all!

Take Care!
Jaime

PS....Tell Zeus that Angel and Sera hope he's felling back to his old self soon!

I will pick him up at 5 today.
Doc says he will be groggy but able to walk out on his own.
It was really sad to see him pass out right in front of me. I had to hold him while they gave him the anesthetic. He just went limp. Got heavier and HEAVier and HEAVIER!!!
He weighed in at 181 lbs.

Buck was 99 pounds last Monday when I had him in at the Vets and he is only 17 months. Nowhere's near as big a Zeus, but more then I can hardly handle when he is excited.....drug me across the parking lot!

Zeus is home. VERY groggy. Not to happy. He can barely walk, so right now he is laying in the grass with all the other dogs laughing at him. hahahaha
