I feel a bit like a voyeur reading your messages without introducing myself. I'm Laurel. I have been avidly checking the net for information on cruises and discovered this site. I have learned alot from your wonderfully sharing site.
I leave in 7 days for my first cruise. I'm on the celebrity mercury. Its going to south america. My port stops are valparaiso and aric chile, lima peru, manta ecuador, puntarenas costa rica, acapulco, mazatlan and cabo san lucas mexico, and it ends in san diego california.
For someone who doesn't travel much this is a stretch but it should be fun.
Anyway thanks for the informative site. You look like nice people.
Glad to see you posting and not just lurking :-) If you have any questions, feel free to post them here, you have found the friendliest boards on the internet. All of us here try our best to be imformative and friendly and I think it shows!

What a fabulous trip !!! I just wish the twin (there are three of us which makes for a lot of confusion) who's on the same cruise right now could answer your questions.
Do spend an extra day in San Diego just so you can go to the ZOO!
I will have to compare notes with the CruiseAholic when I get back. Thanks for the welcome everyone.
I pick up my tickets tomorrow. I'm getting excited. This has been a last minute trip for me. I have planned and booked this trip in a week. From planning to leaving it will have been 2 1/2 weeks. Talk about spontaneous! I'm leaving hubby and children at home. I'm going to quilt in the sun. It should be great.
Hi, Laurel, and WELCOME! Don't forget about us when you get back from the Mercury. Come on back and share your cruise with us! I am just green with envy. My husband, Jose, and I REALLY want to do South America! Have a great cruise and post often.

Welcome Laurel! WOW what a trip on such short notice! And your first one to boot! You go girl! Have fun quilting in the sun! We look forward to your report when you return.
Welcome Aboard, Laurel!! from one of the recently new (2/3 weeks for me), but I couldn't keep my fingers off the keyboard, even when what I say sounds dumb! I am still trying to figure out all the different "CHARACTERS" here, but it is fun!! You are one spunky lady planning this cruise in such short order and going alone! I admire you and I envy the cruise! We will be holding our breath for your reports! Gloria
