Mine: shot glasses. We have quite a collection now. Also, we have to indulge in the purchase of various types of alcohol (as it is duty free)!
Salute'!
I only have a collection of one! For those of you who don't know me, Pamda is referring to the fact that I married my waiter from my first cruise! Hasn't been a bad souvenier, either! I think I'll keep him!
When I was divorced many, many years ago, and it was just my eight-year-old daughter and me trying to make ends meet on my meager salary, I began travelling again as soon as I was able to afford it. The trips weren't expensive and we didn't stay in 5 star hotels, but we had a ball! We could barely afford the trips, much less the souveniers, so we started buying a mug on every trip we have ever taken, with the name of the place or, now, the name of the ship. We ran out of room for them a long time ago, but I'll never stop buying them. I get such a wonderful warm glow of remembrance every time I use one of them. Simple, inexpensive, but oh so enjoyable.
I agree with Kuki. We have met the most wonderful people on our cruises. Not to mention several right here on this board.
We just completed a 21 day on the Regal Princess. Two of our table mates were from your home town Kuki and they are still on the ship until San Fransisco and the other two are from a little town in England, called Blockey. We have already had several emails from them.
I would like to think that we have collected these friends. And we Cherish each and everyone of them !!!
If you are "listening".........we mean you guys !!!!!
Fancy minature liquor bottles or jugs in the liquor stores in the ports we visit. Same thing applies to land cruises to Vegas. I now have over 900 different ones.
I do not collect anything in particular. My wife however apparently collects diamonds.
At least she tells me that they are only souvenirs just like the tee shirts and shot glasses that others collect. Does anyone think she might be trying to get something over on me?
We collect those little silver or ceramic bells with the ships name/logo, or the port/country name on them. That is how we are able to know how many cruises we have been on, just count the darn bells! <>
