Default Today's poll: Best embarkment port in which to begin your c

I only have two to choose from: Miami and Port Canaveral. Miami was fun as it reminded me of my ol' stomping grounds in California, but Port C. wins for aestetic value and well as easy of boarding. Carnival did a nice job with this new location.

P.S. Gloria... did the "million" call yet?? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. It would be a nice Easter present (smile).

Same here Diverkym!!
I only have two ports to choose from also, the same ones that you mentioned. I will
say that Miami was my favorite, because of the scenery getting to the terminal. Port
Canaveral is under construction getting to the terminal and I just thought it was kind of
dull looking when you look out from the ship around the port. But, thats just my opinion.
.lol..I'd like to see Port Canaveral when they're all finished with the construction and then maybe I could say differently.Anyway....I'm outta here!! Take care !

My fave so far is N.Y.C. !! The Ships, the skyline, the Statue Of Liberty, The Verrazzano Narrows Bridge. Quite a sight to leave from, and a welcoming site to come home to.With the Massive bridge overhead, the Statue of Liberty on your left, and the Empire state building on your right, its like an arch welcoming you home, reminding us why we live here, and why, when we travel, its always good to come home...

Vancouver for the ease of boarding and New York for the awe of it all.

Vancouver - it is so beautiful; and Port Everglades - close to the airport and hotels.

I like Vancouver for their port facility and of course, you can't beat New York for the views. Honolulu is great, too, I guess I like them all. I was rather surprised at Tahiti, where they were outdoors at card tables, set up under tarps, using flashlights to search through boxes for boarding cards. Pretty funny!

I've only had one experience and it was at Ft. Lauderdale-----but what an experience!!!!

The send-off is terrific!! I'll be sailing away from Ft. L in 8 days, sure hope it is as great as the last one!

Diverkym, all the millionaires were busy yesterday.....but thanks for asking! Gloria

Mine have all been out of Ft. Lauderdale, but I say ANY port is the best port, as long as I am on a cruise!!

I love New York !!!

It's a limo ride up I-95 and passing the Statue of Liberty on the way out of harbor is an experience that sends goosebumps.

Philadelphia has its charms (REALLY close) as does Baltimore but the Dundalk terminal's "fashion statement" -- warehouse crossed with drag queen -- doesn't do a whole lot.

But ANY port will do !!!

I have embarked from San Juan and Tampa and prefered Tampa for ease in getting to the port. The Tampa building is brand new and very nice.

Sydney, passing under the bridge and then the Opera House off starboard. Second choice, London, passing under Tower Bridge as sun sets.

San Juan, hands down. Then Miami, then Port Everglades, then Seattle.

#1 San Juan (late in the evening with the city in lights)
#2 Ft. Lauderdale (for the gracious condominium sendoff and lovely homes)
#3 NYC (the most beautiful city on Earth...ditto cruzship and pamda)

I vote for Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale cause it seems to be more hassle-free than other ports we've embarked from. (and not just because I can walk to the port).

Ft. Lauderdale for me. Pretty easy to fly into and out of. Most of the hotels (for a day ahead, or day after) are close to the port and airport, and the cruise terminals are always being updated/improved/expanded and clean. Also, transportation costs are reasonable (if you have a cab driver who knows where he's going).

Yes Pamda (love your latest book)--under Sydney's coathanger. We left from Darling harbor and sailed around and out pst the big white sails of the Opera House. Beautiful sights.

Id have to say San Diego because the port is only 1 min. away and the weather is usually always great with a view of the Corronado Bridge.
