Should I be picky and say it depends on whats on the menu ? Mostly only one entree and one dessert-- I try and watch what I eat and try things I wouldnt have at home or at a regular rest. I hate to waste food --so sometimes my family is nice and I can take a sample of what the have ordered and the same for them--from what I order
I do appreciate it when a waiter does listen to me and only give me a small sample-- not a whole order of something-----when I realy cant make up my mind.
On two occasions I ordered a veggie entree along with my meat or fish entree and ice cream with my dessert. We were seated at a table of eight and after the third or fourth night it seemed everyone (even the women) were ordering doubles of entrees and desserts for the remainder of the week. We really enjoyed the food and didn't gain any weight due to walking from aft to stern and trying to use the stairs instead of the elevators.
Now it's back to reality and watching what we eat again.
For somebody that has a difficult time making decisions, I have on occasion, ordered two entrees, hoping that Merman will help me finish it off. Now desserts that's an entirely DIFFERENT story. How would you ever pick just one!
....I like April's sampling technique! )) We'd make great tablemates!
Normally, only one entree, although I have been known to ask for just a small sample of a second, different one. Some waiters oblige, but some bring an entire second plate (which I decline). I think I've had a second lobster on two occasions, too. Desserts, though....on our last cruise, our waiter brought four desserts for each of the three couples at the table....every night! I didn't eat all of them, but I did sample many.
I only order one entree, but would love the sampler plate idea. As Divetex stated we had a very generous waiter on our last cruise, it was great to be able to taste test all of the desserts. :-) We normally drink water or ice tea but have been trying different wines with dinner.
Used to order more on filet and lobster night, but can only eat one main course now. Do order two deserts on occassion and will eat the spouses if she looks away. (Hey anything is fair in love and cruising!)

Re: Todays Poll: How many EntreÚs
I was waiting for Jack to chime in on this one! lol He is the one who got me started on two desserts!! Oh, and I drink water or wine with my meals. Occasionally an appetizer, salad or soup, always the bread and rolls, one entree and one or two desserts (that's Jack's bad influence on me!)
Crown Princess 1/18/14....the NEW Me, Myself and I cruise!
Frequently 2 appetisers; one I love and I to try but definatly 2 on snails.
Generally one entree but surf and turf for prime rib/lobster and filet/shrimp/crab.
Skip soup. Often skip salad (do at lunch)
Usually no or single dessert; only do chocolate or cheesecake.
