Okay, admit it.....who hasn't done their taxes yet?

I can't believe I have to count myself in this group. I usually have my taxes done as soon as the W-2's arrive in my house. I did both of the kids months ago. Now here I sit on the final weekend without mine done.......guess I'd better get cracking!

Sorry, the accountant has had mine for over a month, dropped by his office last night to pay him and sign, and at the click of a button, he electronically filed everything!

Sorry, I have already gotten my money back from Uncle Sam.

I had them done a couple of months ago but alas I have to write a check to the United States Treasury so I mailed them off today.

My wife hates to have to pay but I would rather pay nothing or a few hundred rather than having Uncle Sam keep a 0% interest savings account for me.

I can't wait to see the evening news on Monday. They always show the line of cars lined up at the post office dropping off last minute returns.

Mailed mine this morning and by CERTIFIED MAIL. Last year I just sent it by regular mail on 4/13 because we were leaving for a cruise on 4/14. Guess what? At the end of June I got a letter and they charged me a penalty for filing late. They said they didn't get it until the end of May. It took until late fall for them to finally cave and remove the penalty. From now on anything going to IRS is by certified mail so that I have proof of mailing. To celebrate this event we are leaving on Sunday for a week on the Grand.

Yep,,,my refund is already here and gone too!! Made the final payment on our cruise 14
days before it was due to be in!! Kept back some of it for the spending money we would need also!! But it is long gone now and so is our cruise. But I'm working hard for the "earned income credit" check for next year's cruise!!...ALASKA!! :-)

OK ML, I confess, still doing mine too. Guess that leaves you and me with a headache this weekend. But then I always put them off to the end since as usual will wind up paying, but I'm used to that so...... It's much more fun cruising.

I done sent mine in on January 21. I once again missed out on about $4.50 in interest that I didn't claim and will once again get a note next year reminding me to claim it. . .but I am done for 2001. Gotta tell you if kids weren't so expensive, I would be more grateful that they are tax deductions/credits. You know the only reason we get a break on them is that the govt needs us to procreate to support it. Kind of sick, isn't it?

We will be doing our taxes today. We've never waited this long. Guess we were just too busy ready the cruisemate forum and having too much fun. Now down to biz today -no choice here. So I'd better log out and get busy and we'll be back later. Might be up to the wee hours. Won't do this again next year!!!!!

We filed via the internet. Did the taxes with Turbo Tax as well. Healthy return a coming our way... Have not spent it as of yet.
